Danene Brown PT DPT RYT-200 has 18 years of diverse physical therapy experience in orthopedics, sports medicine, neurology, and gait impairments. She was born in western PA (Go Steelers!) and completed her BS at Clarion University of PA and DPT at Slippery Rock University of PA.
Danene developed her skill set locally first at a comprehensive rehabilitation hospital, then at an outpatient sports medicine facility; and developed a Fall Prevention program at each. She was lucky to be stationed 3 years in Hawaii with her husband and was able to further develop her manual and orthopedic skills.
She has 6 years of experience here at the Gait Center and has begun the Gait Certification Program through Mission Gait. She acts as the Clinical Coordinator of Clinical Education for our local Physical Therapy Schools. Making PT interesting with thoughtful manual treatments, creative exercise prescription, and patient education are paramount to her approach. Having a deep respect delivering quality care, she also volunteers with Mission Gait’s Advisory Board with a goal of providing education, research, and quality care to those with complex gait abnormalities. Some of her other PT projects include corporate wellness, post-race injury assessment, marketing, and social-media community outreach.
Out of the office, Danene is certified to teach yoga and enjoys hiking, stand up paddle boarding, Barre, traveling, dog rescue, gardening, and fashion. She loves living in the Northside with her husband, who is retired from the US ARMY, and their furry family.
